'Fortnite' Mark a Chest, Shield Item & Healing Item Week 7 Challenge Guide

Fortnite Week 7 Team Spirit Challenges are live, and one set of missions asks players to use the game's marker system to ping various items on the Battle Royale map. In this guide, we'll show you how to do it.

Mark an Uncommon Rare & Epic Item - How to Set a Marker

To mark items in Fortnite simply look at an item and press the following buttons.

Keyboard: K

Controller: d-pad left.

With mobile things are slightly more complicated. Open the menu and select the HUD Layout Tool. Now find the button that looks like a giant map marker and place it anywhere in the play area you'd like it to be. In this example it's right below our building materials. Now, just look at the item and tap the button like you would on other platforms.

For this challenge specifically, players need to mark an Uncommon, Rare and Epic Item. Doing so requires a basic understanding of Fortnite's loot system. Here are the colors you're looking for:

Uncommon - Green

Rare - Blue

Epic - Purple

As long as you actively play Fortnite over the course of the week, this mission shouldn't be too hard to complete.

Mark a Chest, a Shield Item and a Healing Item in a Single Match

Now that you know how Fortnite's Item marker system works, the Prestige version of the challenge should be that much easier. All you have to do is use the same skills described above to mark a Chest, Shield Item and a Healing Item in a single match.

Shield Items include

Small Shield Potions

Shield Potions

Healing Items include:

Bandages

Medkits

Cozy Campfires

The real challenging part about this one is finding all three types of items in a single match. There's no great, guaranteed way to do this, but our best advice is to head to a population center like Paradise Palms or Pleasant Park that's likely to have everything you need in one place. We'd suggest staying away from Moisty Palms purely based on all the attention it's getting after the 10.30 update.

This week's Fortnite Challenges emphasize teamwork, but this set should be simple enough to accomplish alone. Even with a Duo or Squad of randoms, all you have to do is mark the classes of items as described and you'll receive credit for each part of the mission.
