chinese President Xi Jinping made the promise Monday in a video speech to the opening ceremony of a China-Africa forum on economic cooperation.
He said China will provide 1 billion doses in all. The other four hundred million are to come back through other routes reminiscent of production through chinese language businesses in Africa.
"We deserve to put individuals and their lives first, be guided by way of science, aid waiving highbrow property rights on COVID-19 vaccines, and in reality make sure the accessibility and affordability of vaccines in Africa to bridge the immunization hole," he said.
The discussion board on China-Africa Cooperation, which is held every three years, is being hosted by using Senegal. It runs through Tuesday.
